Sanxia Village is located in the Xiling Gorge section of the Yangtze River, with the core being Longjin Stream—a small creek flowing into the Yangtze, flanked by steep mountains and dense vegetation. The scenic area arranges three sets of scenes along the stream: waterside homes, creekside homes, and hillside homes, presenting a concentrated view of the lifestyle of the gorge inhabitants.
Main Highlights
Longjin Stream
The creek is clear and shallow, with stilted buildings and black-sail boats along both banks. It is most beautiful in the early morning when the mist has not yet lifted and light slants in from the top of the gorge.
Waterside Homes and Folk Performances
Fishing boats, sails, and work-song performances along the river are scheduled at specific times, and wedding custom performances invite visitor participation. Performance times are fixed daily and posted on guide boards.
Creekside Walkway
The walkway along the creek has a gentle slope, featuring small scenes with water wheels, mills, weaving, and blacksmithing, making it suitable for elderly visitors and children.
