The quartz sandstone peak forest is a unique landform in the world. This line connects the bird's-eye view of the mountains, the upward view from the valley floor, the dangers of Tianmen Mountain, and the waterside lights of Fenghuang.

    12:30 First Bridge under Heaven, a natural stone bridge formed between two peaks, with a deep valley below.
    14:00 After lunch, continue to the Back Garden and Mysterious Platform.

    Tip: To see the sea of clouds depends on luck, early mornings after rain are most likely.

    09:00 Golden Whip Stream, flat road along the stream at the valley bottom, steep stone peaks on both sides. This angle is opposite to the top of the mountain: when on the mountain you look down, in the valley you are surrounded by stone pillars.

    14:30 Huangshi Village, "If you don’t go to Huangshi Village, your visit to Zhangjiajie is in vain."
    17:00 Exit the park.
    Tip: Monkeys appear frequently, please keep your food safe, do not hold plastic bags in front of them.

    Daily detail08:00 Tianmen Mountain, a long cable car (about 7.5 km), one of the longest alpine passenger cable cars in the world.
    10:00 Tianmen Cave, 999 steps to ascend Tianmen.

    13:30 Glass boardwalk (with shoe covers and limited capacity, choose carefully if afraid of heights) and Guigu boardwalk.
    16:00 Descend and depart for Fenghuang.
    20:00 Arrive in Fenghuang and check in by the Tuo River.

    Daily detail08:00 Fenghuang Ancient Town Early morning, mist over the Tuo River, stilted houses on both banks; tourists have not yet gotten up.
    10:00 Walk slowly through the East Gate Tower, Hongqiao Bridge, and Shen Congwen's Former Residence.
    12:00 After lunch, transfer to the station or airport according to train schedule.
    Note: Fenghuang has no airport; usually return to Zhangjiajie or Huaihua and transfer.
