scale of Xijiang is second to none among Miao villages in China: over a thousand households are stacked up along two hillsides, and wooden stilted houses stand on the slope with mortise and tenon joints. It is both a living village and the most mature stop in Guizhou's tourism industry; you need to stay overnight to see what it truly looks like after nightfall.
