The positioning of Qiandao Lake is very clear: it’s not about rushing through tourist spots, but about settling in. Its water quality is among the best in China (with visibility over 7 meters), and a table featuring organic fish head, hickory nuts, and dried bamboo shoots leaves more memorable impressions than the scenic spots themselves. For overseas Chinese, it is also the most comfortable stopover between Hangzhou and Huangshan.

Main Attractions

Meifeng Island

The best place to view the islands; after taking the cable car up the mountain, you can overlook more than 300 islands scattered across the water.

Longshan Island

Contains the Hai Rui Memorial and Shixia Academy, making it the island with the most concentrated cultural content.

Lakeside Greenway

A lakeside cycling path over a hundred kilometers long, with the Chunyang section recognized as the most scenic.

Jieshou Peninsula

A cluster of resort hotels, suitable for staying two nights with elderly family members and children.

Xiushui Street

The town’s dining and specialty street, where the organic fish head of Qiandao Lake is a must-order.

Suggested Stay and Itinerary

  • Recommended stay: 2–3 days.
  • It is more efficient to combine it with other destinations in the same area; refer to the "Extended Routes" and "Province" sections below.

Local Tips

  • Boat routes are divided into A/B lines and by the number of islands visited; confirm which islands are included when buying tickets.
  • For cycling around the lake, it’s recommended to choose just one section (10–20 km), as the full route is too long for most people.
  • The drive from Qiandao Lake to Huangshan North Station is 1.5 hours, allowing you to combine it into a Hangzhou–Qiandao Lake–Huangshan route.
