Key Highlights

392 Steps

The section of steps from the stele pavilion to the memorial hall is an iconic scene. When walking upwards, you see steps but no platforms; when reaching the top and looking back, you see platforms but no steps — this is an intentionally designed visual effect.

Memorial Hall and Burial Chamber

The memorial hall is a palace-style building blending Chinese and Western architectural elements, housing a white marble statue of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, with a dome decorated with the Blue Sky with a White Sun emblem. The burial chamber is located behind the memorial hall and requires orderly visitation.

Music Stage and Surroundings

The music stage on the east side of the mausoleum area is a contemporary building. It is famous for its doves and corridors. The rest of Purple Mountain (Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, Linggu Temple) can be covered in one day.
