Dayu Crossing is on the Yellow River bank in Ruicheng. It is said to be the place where Dayu crossed the river while controlling the floods. This is the first big bend of the Yellow River after it emerges from the Jin-Shaanxi Gorge, where the river is wide and the flow is gentle, allowing boats to view the loess cliffs on both sides.

Destination Details
Dayu Crossing is located on the southeast bank of the Yellow River in Ruicheng County. The Yellow River rushes down from the Jin-Shaanxi Gorge and suddenly opens up here, with the river channel widening and the flow slowing, forming a large bend. It is said that during his flood control efforts, Dayu once crossed the river here, giving the ferry its name.

Yellow River Big Bend and Boat Tours
The core experience of the scenic area is riding a boat. As the boat travels down the river, the banks are lined with yellow earth cliffs several tens of meters high, clearly stratified; on sunny days, the river water appears muddy yellow, providing a striking contrast with the blue sky. During the dry season, when the water level is low, river sandbanks emerge, offering even wider views.
Dayu Statue and Shenbaiyu
A tall statue of Dayu stands on the bank, facing the river. Nearby, the cliffs around Shenbaiyu are steep and densely vegetated, making it an excellent spot to view the Yellow River cliffs. The trail is gentle, and a round trip takes about forty minutes.

- Combine with Yongle Palace and Fengling Crossing for a full day in Ruicheng.
Practical Information
It is about ten kilometers from Ruicheng County to Dayu Crossing, approximately a twenty-minute drive by taxi. Boat tours may be adjusted according to water levels and weather; during the dry season or on windy days, tours may be suspended, so it is best to confirm before departure. The riverside is windy, so a jacket is recommended in spring and autumn.
