Destination Details
Nanchang is often regarded as a "pass-through point" for traveling in Jiangxi, but it is actually worth staying for two days: the side of Tengwang Pavilion facing the Gan River is the physical location to understand "the sunset and the lone wild goose fly together," while the Wanshou Palace and Shengjin Pagoda area is the oldest part of Jiangxi with the most local life vibe. From here, it's within two hours to head south to Lushan, east to Wuyuan and Sanqing Mountain, or west to Jinggang Mountain.

Recommended Stay and Routes
- Recommended stay: 2–3 days.
- Combining it with other destinations in the same area is more efficient; you can refer to the "Extendable Routes" and "Province" sections below.
Local Tips
- Night tours at Tengwang Pavilion feature lights and performances, and the music fountain at Qiushui Square on the opposite bank is open at the same time.
- Nanchang noodles with sauce and clay pot soup are local breakfast staples; small shops in the old city are more authentic than those in tourist areas.
- In summer, Nanchang, like Changsha and Wuhan, belongs to the "furnace belt," so be cautious about planning outdoor activities in July–August.
